Minister: Russia to launch own Wikipedia analogue in Jan–Mar

MOSCOW, Dec 20 (PRIME) -- Russia will launch a Wikipedia analogue called portal Knowledge in January–March 2023, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on Tuesday.

“Wikipedia in our search results is tagged as a resource that violates the requirements of the communications service. Our main goal is to have our own portal. We are creating it, portal Knowledge…it has accumulated more than 100,000 entries,” Shadayev said.

The materials published on the portal, which is being tested now, passed a multi-level verification.

“We will request further that our Russian resource be prioritized in search results, be always above Wikipedia,” the minister said.
